Sterling Shepard (WR, NYG) - Week 9 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: It's been ages since the first time I told you to add-and-stash Sterling Shepard to your fantasy teams when he went down injured all the way back in Week 2. It looks like fantasy GMs are finally accepting that they missed out big time, and making amends by rostering Shepard. Even with that, though, he's still available in more than half of Yahoo! leagues these days, which is bonkers.

It's been two games for Shepard since his return, and in the last two weeks, he's had performances of 17.9 and 15.4 PPR points. In both cases, he's finished the week as a WR2. After having a comeback-game in which he was already targeted 8 times, caught 6 of those passes, and reached 59 yards while scoring a touchdown, he went on and had an even better performance (only lacking the TD) yesterday hauling in 8 receptions (10 targets) for 74 receiving yards.

Shepard is a 75% snap share player, third among Giants only behind Darius Slayton and Evan Engram. That doesn't make sense considering he's averaging the most PPR per game and that he's the most reliable pass-catcher of the team. Shepard's 0.30 PPR points per snap are above Slayton's 0.21 and light years ahead of Engram's putrid 0.16.

The usage of Shepard will (or at least should) keep growing in this offense under Daniel Jones, making him a WR1 ROS. Shepard has a WR2 floor with upside to finish as WR1 any week if Jones doesn't screw things up. Borderline All-Leagues addition to rosters, and definitely a must-add and weekly WR2/WR3 play in deeper formats.
