Should I Start Logan Thomas for Fantasy Football?
Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas has looked good this season. After struggling in 2021 and 2022, he's started to look like the dynamic player that he was back in 2020.
Last week against the Bears, Thomas was targeted 11 times, catching nine passes for 77 yards and a touchdown. It was the second time this season that Thomas has found the end zone.
This week, the Commanders take on a Falcons team that has allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends in half-PPR scoring. That includes allowing a season-best performance to Dalton Schultz last week. This is a great matchup for Thomas, who is a top fantasy tight end this week.
He is the TE6 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
Should I Start Dalton Schultz for Fantasy Football?
Last week against the Falcons, Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz was targeted 10 times, his most since joining the Texans. He caught seven of those for 65 yards, both season-highs as well. For the second week in a row, Schultz caught a touchdown.
This week, the Texans host the New Orleans Saints. New Orleans has been one of the best fantasy defenses against the tight end position this year. They've allowed just 4.6 fantasy points per game to the position in half-PPR scoring.
Schultz's increase in volume is encouraging, but fantasy managers likely have a safer option this week considering how tough this matchup appears to be.
He is the TE15 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
Should I Start Darren Waller for Fantasy Football?
Darren Waller's had a pretty up-and-down start to his time with the New York Giants, but last week he had his best showing of the season with the team, catching eight of his 11 targets for 86 yards.
This week though, Waller faces a tough matchup against the Buffalo Bills, who allow the third-fewest fantasy points to opposing tight ends in half-PPR scoring. While Waller's talent always gives him a chance to post a strong fantasy score, this is a tough matchup. He's still worth playing if you don't have a better option, but temper expectations a bit.
He is the TE9 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
