Should I Start Josh Downs For Fantasy Football?
The rookie wide receiver has had a productive year, totaling 23 receptions on 33 targets for 255 receiving yards. Downs is the WR27, averaging 10.6 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. However, the former UNC star is a popular flex option this week because of the quarterback situation.
Gardner Minshew will start this week for an injured Anthony Richardson. Downs has averaged 7.7 targets per game in the three contests that Minshew has played this year. Meanwhile, the Jaguars have given up 30.3 fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season. Over the past three weeks, they have given up an average of 190 receiving yards, 1.3 touchdowns, and 32.2 fantasy points per game.
While he hasn’t scored a touchdown this season, Downs is an appealing WR3 or flex option this week.
Should I Start Tyler Lockett For Fantasy Football?
Seattle is coming off their bye week and faces a challenging opponent today. Lockett has 17 receptions on 27 targets for 157 receiving yards and two touchdowns this season. The veteran is the WR49, averaging 9.6 half-point PPR fantasy points per contest.
However, he faces a talented Cincinnati defense in Week 6. The Bengals have held wide receivers to only 26.2 fantasy points per game this season, the 10th-fewest in the NFL. Furthermore, they have surrendered fewer than 175 receiving yards to wide receivers in every game this season.
Lockett is a safe floor high-end WR3 or flex option despite the difficult matchup against the Bengals.
Should I Start Garrett Wilson For Fantasy Football?
The former Ohio State star had high expectations with Aaron Rodgers joining the team this season. However, Wilson has remained productive despite losing the future Hall of Fame quarterback. The second-year receiver has 24 receptions on 43 targets for 279 receiving yards and two touchdowns this season.
More importantly, Wilson is the WR30, averaging 10.4 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Meanwhile, he faces an Eagles defense that has given up 38.4 fantasy points per game to wide receivers this year, the third-most in the NFL. Philadelphia will also be without several starters on defense for this game, including Slay.
Fantasy players should be excited about the matchup. However, Zack Wilson is still the team’s starting quarterback. The former Ohio State star is a WR3 with boom-or-bust potential.
