BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 17% of Yahoo! leagues
ANALYSIS: After a short stint on the IL that carried over the All-Star break, Tiger right-hander Spencer Turnbull looked a little rusty in his return to the bump. He tossed three innings against the Royals, giving up five runs (four earned) on four hits, three walks and just one strikeout.
He's only 3-8 on the year, but in 18 starts Turnbull boasts a 3.59 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP, with a 20.9% strikeout rate. He's definitely slowed down after his hot start to the season, and his strikeout numbers in particular have taken a hit, with just a 16.1% k rate since May 31.
However, Turnbull is still finding ways to get hitters out, and while he's no longer a must-own in all formats, he should be considered as a solid streaming option in 12-team leagues, and is worth rostering in other deeper formats as well.
