Spencer Schwellenbach is a fantasy baseball waiver wire stash for Week 18 (2024). Target Spencer Schwellenbach as a top prospect free-agent waiver wire pickup for fantasy baseball.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
CALL-UP ETA: Already on Active Roster
ANALYSIS: Atlanta Braves pitcher Spencer Schwellenbach made his major league debut earlier this year after having a 1.80 ERA across eight starts at High-A and Double-A in 2024. Despite struggling in his first few starts with the Braves, Schwellenbach has looked much better on the mound recently.
The right-hander has given up just six earned runs across his last 19 innings of work (2.84 ERA) over his last three starts. During that span, Schwellenbach threw six innings of one-run ball with six strikeouts against the Philadelphia Phillies on July 6 and seven innings of one-run ball against the San Diego Padres on July 12. As a result, he is a worthy add in most 12-plus team leagues in Week 18.
Spencer Schwellenbach did it again for the @Braves last night, limiting the Padres to just 3 hits and 1 run over 7 innings of work. His splitter has now won our Starting Pitcher Pitch of the Day four times (he has 7 career starts) pic.twitter.com/coyBsL6ymv

With the Braves' rotation suffering plenty of injuries this year, it appears that Schwellenbach will be a part of the rotation for the foreseeable future. Given the way he has pitched recently, take a chance on him in fantasy right now ahead of his next start against the New York Mets.
