The NASCAR Cup Series ran the Toyota / Save Mart 350 this past Sunday afternoon at Sonoma Raceway, the second road course race of the season. At the first road course race, it was Hendrick Motorsports' William Byron in victory lane, and this time around, Hendrick got the win again as Kyle Larson took the checkered flag in wine country.
Larson had the Best Average Running Position for the race (5.52) and was followed in that statistic by his teammate, Chase Elliott (8.29), who finished fourth. Tyler Reddick (8.63), Ryan Blaney (9.60), and Ross Chastain (9.94) rounded out the top five when it came to Average Running Position.
Of the top five finishers in this weekend's race, Michael McDowell had the worst Average Running Position at 11.76, which was 10th-best. He finished runner-up to race-winner Kyle Larson, partly due to a strategy call by the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports team.
