NFL DFS Props - Over/Under Picks for Week 9 Monday Night Football
Breece Hall OVER 2.5 Receptions
Hall has truly taken over the Jets backfield again after being eased back into action to start the season. The second-year back has seen a steady rise in snaps as the season has gone on, including totaling 64% of snaps or more in his last two games.
Hall has tallied three or more catches in four straight games, including averaging 5.5 receptions and 65 receiving yards over his last two games. He faces off with the Chargers on Monday night, who have allowed the fifth-most receiving yards and the eighth-highest yards per reception to running backs this season. Hall’s 18.5 receiving yardage over should also be in play this week.
Garrett Wilson OVER 4.5 Receptions
Another receptions prop is showing value on Monday night, this one for receiver Garrett Wilson. The 23-year-old has reached five or more catches in five of seven games (71%) and has averaged 10.5 targets per game since Week 2. His rapport with QB Zach Wilson has developed over time as well, culminating in an average of 7.5 catches and 95 receiving yards in his last two games.
The Chargers play the ninth-most zone coverage in the NFL. Wilson enjoys a 23.6% target rate against zone coverage and will be able to take advantage of a defense ranking 27th in DVOA. The Chargers have allowed 8.6 yards per coverage target and 12.3 yards per reception while in zone, both bottom-five marks in the NFL. Wilson is a great bet this week.
Austin Ekeler OVER 46.5 Rushing Yards
The Chargers and Ekeler have been inconsistent so far this year. The 28-year-old has been among a handful of offensive players who have battled injuries in the first half of the season, which has certainly contributed to that. Ekeler is averaging 3.7 yards per carry on the season, which includes one game of 7.3 yards per carry and two games of 1.9 yards per carry.
Despite the inconsistent outputs, Ekeler has had a steady volume in his healthy games, totaling 15 touches and 14 or more carries in each of his four games. If he can reach his averages of 14 carries and 3.7 yards per carry on Monday, he would surpass 50 rushing yards and hit his rushing over.
With Justin Herbert still banged up and Los Angeles favored by 3.5 points, the Chargers can lean on their ground game to help them to a win against an upstart Jets team.
