NFL DFS Props - Over/Under Picks for Week 9 Sunday Late Slate
Aidan O'Connell OVER 216.5 Passing Yards
Rookie QB and preseason darling Aidan O’Connell gets the start for the Raiders during a week of welcomed change that saw the franchise fire head coach Josh McDaniels and GM David Ziegler and sit QB Jimmy Garoppolo.
In O’Connell’s only start this year he finished with 238 passing yards against the Chargers. This week O’Connell faces off with a Giants team that ranks 19th in defensive DVOA and is the 11th best matchup for quarterbacks this week according to PFF’s strength of schedule metric. New York has given up over 216.5 passing yards in three of their last four and five of their eight total games this season.
Bryce Young OVER 7.5 Rushing Yards
Bryce Young has been serviceable for the Panthers so far in his rookie season, averaging 200 passing yards, 1.2 passing touchdowns, and 12.7 rushing yards per game in six starts.
The 2023 first-overall pick is showing value on his rushing prop this week. Young has topped 7.5 rushing yards in four games and is facing off against a Colts team that has allowed more than this mark in four of their last six. Indianapolis and Carolina both rank in the top six in offensive plays per game, meaning more opportunities for scrambles and designed runs.
Tony Pollard UNDER 3.5 Receptions
Pollard has not lived up to expectations so far in 2023. He is the RB16 in fantasy football, ranking eighth in snap share and 15th in opportunity share among RBs despite being drafted as a top-five back in the majority of leagues.
The 26-year-old has logged 69% of snaps or less in five of seven games this year, coinciding with a rise in backup RB Rico Dowdle’s snap share (35% last week against the Rams). Pollard has gone under 3.5 receptions in four of seven games, including three of his last five.
Pollard and the Cowboys have an away matchup with the Eagles on Sunday, a team that has limited three of the last five starting running backs they have faced to six receiving yards or less. With Pollard splitting time and ceding targets to his backups more frequently this year, there is value in fading his receiving props this week.
