NFL DFS Props - Over/Under Picks for Week 8 Sunday Late Slate
Geno Smith OVER 10.5 Rushing Yards
Smith has been serviceable so far this year for the 4-2 Seahawks, ranking 14th among QBs in passing yards per game with 231.8. It is his rushing prop that is showing value this week, though, in a matchup with the stingy Cleveland Browns defense.
The Browns rank as the 9th toughest matchup for quarterbacks in Week 8 according to PFF. They rank fourth in the NFL in QB pressure rate, meaning Smith will likely have to be quick on his feet this week. The 33-year-old has hit 10 or more rushing yards in three of his six games, and the Browns have given up over 25 rushing yards to QBs in two of their last three games.
Rotoballer's Proptimizer tool identifies a 17.3% edge on Smith hitting over 10.5 rushing yards this week based on a Sharp App projected line of 14.2 rushing yards.
Donovan Peoples-Jones UNDER 19.5 Receiving Yards
The Browns will be looking to go 3-0 with QB P.J. Walker under center as they face off with the Seahawks on Sunday. Seattle has been a tough opponent for receivers so far this year, ranking as a bottom-ten matchup for receivers according to PFF’s Strength of Schedule metric.
The Seahawks deploy the most amount of zone coverage in the league and have been especially effective at it - they are allowing 6.9 yards per target and 5.62 yards per snap while in zone, both top-ten marks in the NFL. Peoples-Jones has averaged one catch for 11 yards per game in his two games with Walker this year.
The Browns receivers will be difficult to trust this week. Fade Peoples-Jones.
Evan McPherson OVER 5.5 Kicking Points
Much has been made about Cincinnati’s slow start to the season, which included two 3-point offensive performances among the team’s first four games. Since then the team has started to round into form, averaging 25.5 points in their last two games. The recovery of QB Joe Burrow from an offseason calf injury has been the biggest catalyst for this improvement, which should only continue with the Bengals coming off of a Week 7 bye.
Cincinnati faces off with a San Francisco team in Week 8 that has dropped two straight. While McPherson has only attempted 12 field goals so far this year, he is a perfect seven-for-seven from inside of 50 yards. Take advantage of a buy-low opportunity to bet on the Bengals to continue righting the ship this week with enough points for McPherson to cover his kicking points over.
