Welcome to our Sleeper NBA DFS prop picks for Wednesday, January 3. With 12 games Wednesday there are going to be a ton of options. Scottie Barnes’ rebound prop remains the top bet of the night with Rotoballer’s Prop-timizer favoring a Deni Avdija under bet as well. Avdija is playing his best basketball of the season and anyone that can hit the under is absolutely playing with fire. Avdija’s usage rate over his last two games increased from around 16-19% to around 30% and is more indicative of how well he is playing and the Wizards utilizing the hot-hand.
Sleeper offers some of the best and easiest-to-win NBA DFS games in the industry. Sleeper DFS works just like regular player prop betting -- there are no large-field tournaments to get lost in. NBA DFS Props - Over/Under Picks for Wednesday, January 3
Scottie Barnes OVER 14.5 Rebounds + Assists
Without O.G. Anunoby, Scottie Barnes was expected to post massive statlines. Instead, he tied his season-low in assists against the Pistons and has gone two games without double-digit rebounds after a three-game double-double steak. Slightly underwhelming, but there will be a grace period where Barnes needs to adapt to this new-look Raptors rotation.
Memphis played Tuesday and have been struggling to keep good rebounders off the glass all season, giving Barnes the perfect opportunity to get back on track. Dennis Schroder and Immanuel Quickley are going to dominate ball-handling duties for the time being, but Barnes naturally involves teammates and his effort chasing rebounds gives him potential against any defense despite not having a great track record versus the Grizzlies.
Clint Capela OVER 11.5 Rebounds+ Assists
Atlanta’s frontcourt duties are being split between Clint Capela and Bruno Fernando so obviously, Capela is getting over 30+ minutes a night. Now that he’s no longer competing with Onyeka Okongwu and remains a natural double-double threat, any opportunity to target bets close to that marker will be ideal.
Capela was posting near double-doubles with minimal minutes and direct competition and currently he’s facing neither drawback. In certain matchups, there’s a great chance the Hawks will try to play small, but the Grizzlies are not one of those teams and Capela had a 20-point, 12-rebound game versus Memphis a little over a week ago.
John Collins OVER 5.5 Rebounds
Despite his rebounding being drastically inconsistent, John Collins has played well and Utah has won five out of their last six games. Luckily, the Pistons are still fairly bad and anyone is capable of having great games against them. A six-rebound game for Collins is not out of character since he usually averages around seven rebounds a night, but he’s only hit that over twice in the last two weeks.
Jalen Duren is the only threat to Collins rebounds here since we shouldn’t bank on Jordan Clarkson to keep grabbing double-digit boards each night. There’s not much to say about players hitting overs versus the Pistons except that it seems to give players a confidence boost playing against a team currently holding the league’s worst record.
