Andy discusses whether prosect Max Meyer is worth stashing in redraft leagues in week 14 of the MLB Season.
Miami Marlins starting pitching prospect Max Meyer is nearing a return to the major leagues and is worth stashing in all formats.
Marlins skipper Skip Schumaker told the media that the 25-year-old should be expected back in the majors “soon” earlier in June, which suggests that a promotion could be right around the corner.
With several gaps in Miami's rotation due to injuries, Meyer could be on his way back to Miami before the end of the month.
How High Is Max Meyer's Fantasy Potential?
Meyer made the major league roster out of Spring Training and posted a strong 2.12 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, and a 3:14 BB:K ratio in three starts.
During this sample, Meyer posted a stellar 36.9% whiff rate, which suggests his strikeout numbers are due for some positive regression. In addition, he showcased great command with a 4.6% walk rate and generated ground balls at an above-average 48.9% rate.

His best outing of the season was on April 13, where he tossed six innings of one-run ball against the high-powered Atlanta Braves. He allowed six hits, no walks, and struck out a career-high seven batters.

Since this start, Meyer has been with Triple-A and has posted a 6.23 ERA and 1.56 WHIP across 34 2/3 frames. While his ratios are inflated, he is continuing to show high-strikeout potential.
When Might Max Meyer Get A Major-League Opportunity?
As expressed by his major league manager, the former third-overall pick should be back in the majors any day now. Currently, the Marlins' rotation is decimated, with Sixto Sanchez (shoulder), Ryan Weathers (finger), and Braxton Garrett (forearm) all on the 15-day injured list.

As soon as Meyer gets the call, he could remain in the majors for the remainder of the summer. He is a must-stash going forward as he could produce solid production during the second-half of the summer.
