When a premium prospect gets a promotion to Triple-A, the fantasy baseball community takes notice.
Such was recently the case for Dylan Crews, the Washington Nationals' latest outfield prospect to turn heads. He joined James Wood at Triple-A Rochester to form the buzziest outfield duo in the minors.

Crews, the No. 6 prospect in baseball, hit .274 with five homers, 38 RBI, and 15 stolen bases at Double-A Harrisburg to earn his promotion. In six games at Rochester, Crews already has two homers, four RBI, and two stolen bases, only acting to further fuel the hype train.
How High Is Dylan Crews' Fantasy Potential?
Crews starred at LSU alongside Paul Skenes and has rocketed through the minor leagues much like his former college teammate. Once he reaches the majors, as Skenes already has with great success, Crews has a high fantasy ceiling. Given a 65-grade hit score with 60-grade power and speed, it's hard not to imagine an immediate impact upon his call-up to the Nationals.

A polished product at the plate, Crews could be a big-time fantasy contributor for years to come. At 22 years old, he should be able to adjust to big-league pitching upon his call-up and at least provide a solid batting average and some steals immediately with the upside to be a five-category stud right away.
When Might Dylan Crews Get A Major-League Opportunity?
The timeline for Crews' call-up is a bit complicated, mostly because Wood stands in front of him in the pecking order seemingly. If there is an outfield spot open at the big-league level, Wood, MLB's No. 4 overall prospect, should get first dibs. But the fact that they are linked together now at Rochester might leave Washington fans calling for them to patrol the same outfield at the big-league level this season.
Crews has done everything in his power to earn one final promotion at some point this season. It could be a late-season situation though, somewhat limiting his fantasy impact in re-draft leagues. However, Wood seems likely to be called up any time now and Crews could follow shortly. If given some time in Washington this season, Crews could put some fantasy teams over the top during the stretch run.
