Ben Brown is a starting pitcher who plays for the Chicago Cubs Triple-A affiliate, the Iowa Cubs. The Cubs acquired him from the Philadelphia Phillies' at last year's trade deadline, and it seems like the NL Central team made a good deal.
Brown is just 23 years old and was a 33rd-round pick in the 2017 MLB Draft. He was drafted directly from Long Island High School. In 2019, during his first pro season, he had Tommy John surgery and missed a lot of playing time due to it.
Now that he is fully healthy, the Cubs prospect is ready to make a name for himself and is currently the 95th-ranked prospect as per the MLB pipeline.

Ben Brown has dominated in the Minors this season
Ben Brown has impressed everyone with his performances this season for the Iowa Cubs. He has become a reliable option for his team and deserves a fair share in their success. He has started nine games at the Triple-A level this year and currently has a record of 3-4.
In those nine games, Brown has a 3.77 ERA with 63 Ks in 43 innings pitched. The Chicago Cubs fans have high hopes for him because they see him getting called up to the majors soon. His fastball velocity ranges from 94 to 96 mph, with a top speed of 98 mph. His curveball has a downer break and sits in the mid-80s, and he also has a hard slider or cutter that can reach 91 mph.
Ben Brown is expected to get called up to majors next year
Ben Brown is currently expected to be called up to the majors next season, making him an excellent option for redraft leagues. If he continues to develop at his current rate, he could be a valuable addition to the Cubs' rotation next season.
The Cubs' current rotation features Marcus Stroman, Kyle Hendricks, Justin Steele, Jameson Taillon, and Drew Smyly. Taillon, who signed a four-year $68 million contract with the Cubs in the offseason, has been quite disappointing so far.
