After Cooper Kupp was placed on injured reserve just before the Los Angeles Rams opened their season, it was assumed the team’s offense would be toast. Instead, Kupp’s absence opened the door for Tutu Atwell and rookie Puka Nacua to become one of the league’s most electric receiving tandems.
Much has been said about Nacua’s record-setting ascent, but Atwell himself has been posting solid numbers of his own. Atwell is finally breaking out in his third year, and after the first three games of the season, he is close to matching his production in all of 2022.
Does Atwell’s hot start make him worth starting on fantasy football rosters in Week 4? Let’s figure it out.

Tutu Atwell Fantasy Football Outlook
Atwell has been targeted 26 times through the first three games of the season, matching the number of looks given to Calvin Ridley and former All-Pro Michael Thomas. So far in 2023, Atwell has made 17 receptions (one shy of his total from all of 2022) for 235 yards and one touchdown.
In Week 4, the Rams take on the Indianapolis Colts, who have one of the softest pass defenses in the NFL. In their first two games of the season, the Colts allowed two top-20 finishes to wide receivers in each contest and gave up a touchdown to four different receivers in that stretch. Indianapolis finally caught a break in Week 3, facing the more run-focused attack of the Baltimore Ravens in bad weather.
There should be plenty of work to go around for the Rams in Week 4. Even if Atwell is once again overshadowed by Nacua, the former should still be in line for another productive day.
Tutu Atwell Wide Receiver Rankings Analysis
Going into Week 4, Atwell is ranked #29 among wide receivers by the RotoBaller staff. His consistent production in the first three weeks of the season has been a pleasant surprise after going undrafted in most leagues. He owns a 31.9% share of the Rams’ air yards and has a snap share of 87%, suggesting the team views him as a key component of their offense and that he should continue building off his early success.
Should I Start Tutu Atwell In Week 2 Fantasy Football?
Given how well Atwell has played in the first three weeks of the season, he should definitely be started in Week 4. With the Colts’ generosity to opposing wide receivers and his usage in the Rams’ offense, Atwell should be in store for a WR2 finish on Sunday.
