The DST position is one of the trickier propositions in fantasy football, but can sometimes be the difference between wins and losses. As we head into Week 16 of the NFL season, many fantasy managers are left searching for viable streaming options at the DST spot for fantasy playoffs.
The Chiefs' defense has struggled over the past few weeks despite playing against some of the league's most abysmal offenses. Houston, averaging 16.8 PPG this year, pushed Kansas City to their limits last week, scoring 24 and taking them to overtime. In Week 14, the Denver Broncos, who are last in scoring this year, scored a season-high 28 points against the Chiefs. Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks come to town tomorrow on Christmas Eve.
So, should we start the Kansas City Chiefs DST this week against Seattle?

What Has The Chiefs DST Done in 2022?
The Chiefs boast one of the most volatile defenses this year. Chris Jones (11.0 sacks) leads an impressive Kansas City pass rush that has accumulated the fourth-most sacks (43) this year. Takeaways, however, have been a rarity this year. The Chiefs are tied for the sixth-fewest forced turnovers this year, racking up just 15 takeaways through 14 games this year.
When it rains, it pours for this defense. Steve Spagnuolo's unit has five games this year with at least five sacks. Though takeaways have been scarce, the Chiefs have forced multiple turnovers in five games as well this year.
Opponents are averaging 23.0 points per game against the Kansas City Chiefs this year. They currently stand tied for 14th in the NFL in average DST fantasy points per game at 6.5.
Should I Start The Chiefs DST In Week 16 Fantasy Football?
The Chiefs are coming off their most embarrassing performance of 2022. Davis Mills did nothing extraordinary, completing 50% of his passes and racking up 121 yards through the air.
Tomorrow, Kansas City's defense faces a Seattle offense that's seventh in scoring this year, averaging 25.4 PPG. The absence of Tyler Lockett will hinder the Seahawks' offense. Lockett leads Seattle with 964 receiving yards and 8 receiving touchdowns.
Geno Smith has been sacked at least three times in five straight games. Seattle has turned the ball over 20 times this year, eighth-most in the NFL. Kansas City is a risky start this week, but their pass rush should be active and without Lockett, Seattle's offense could sputter.
