The DST position is one of the trickier propositions in fantasy football, but can sometimes be the difference between wins and losses. As we head into Week 17 of the NFL season, many fantasy managers are left searching for viable streaming options at the DST spot for fantasy playoffs.
The Chargers' defense is coming off their best performance of the season by far. In Week 16 against an Indianapolis offense led by Nick Foles, Los Angeles's front seven tallied a season-high seven sacks and allowed a season-low 3 points. They intercepted Foles three times, totaling 20 fantasy points for the Chargers DST last week.
So, should we start the Los Angeles Chargers DST this week against the Rams?

What Has The Chargers DST Done in 2022?
Los Angeles is tied for the tenth-most forced turnovers this year with 21. Four defensive backs have multiple interceptions, including second-year corner Asante Samuel Jr. and former All-Pro safety, Derwin James.
The Chargers' pass rush has been mediocre this year. Khalil Mack leads the unit with eight sacks. As a team, LA's 35 sacks rank tied for 18th in the league. Fortunately for the Bolts, Joey Bosa is expected to play for the first time since Week 3.
Opponents are averaging 22.9 points per game against the Los Angeles Chargers this year. They currently stand tied for 20th in the NFL in average DST fantasy points per game at 6.1.
Should I Start The Chargers DST In Week 17 Fantasy Football?
The return of Joey Bosa is huge for this team heading into playoffs. The Chargers defense has momentum built up, totaling 13 sacks and allowing 11.3 points per game over the last three weeks.
The Rams have allowed 51 sacks this year, the third-most in the league. They've also turned the ball over 21 times this year, though they've only committed two turnovers since Baker Mayfield took over the offense three weeks ago.
Last week's 51-point explosion against the Broncos was a fluky showing from an otherwise mediocre Rams offense. The Los Angeles Chargers DST has momentum on their side and is a solid streaming option this week against their intra-city rivals.
