With Week 1 of the NFL season in the books, fantasy managers have at least a small sample size to work with ahead of Week 2 start/sit decisions for their fantasy squads.
The Miami Dolphins offense was certainly one of the NFL's most impressive units in Week 1. The Dolphins exploded for 36 in their season-opening victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. Veteran running back Raheem Mostert played a featured role in the Dolphins high-octane attack.

Raheem Mostert Fantasy Outlook
While many fantasy analysts expected the Miami backfield to be a committee situation, it was a one-man show in Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season. With Jeff Wilson Jr. placed on IR before the start of the regular season and rookie De'Von Achane a healthy scratch for the opener, veteran back Raheem Mostert was the workhorse in the backfield for Miami in Week 1.
Mostert handled 73% of the offensive snaps for the Dolphins against the Chargers. He amassed 12 total opportunities while handling 10 carries and running 32 routes in the passing game. That volume resulted in 50 total yards from scrimmage and a rushing score.
The veteran did miss Miami's Wednesday practice, though he's since practiced in full and will be ready to go for a Week 2 tilt against the New England Patriots. While the matchup is less than desirable, Mostert should once again dominate the workload in the Dolphins backfield.
Raheem Mostert Running Backs Ranking Analysis
After his solid Week 1 performance, Mostert currently grades out as the RB24 in our RotoBaller Half-PPR Rankings.
This ranking can be attributed to Mostert's difficult Week 2 matchup against the New England Patriots, as well as Miami's high-octane passing attack.
Should I Start Raheem Mostert in Week 2 Fantasy Football?
While a matchup with the New England Patriots is a less-than-desirable one for running backs, Mostert should once again handle the bulk of the workload for the dynamic Miami offense.
He was solid, if unspectacular, in Week 1, averaging 3.7 yards per carry. However, he was also active in the passing game and notched 6.5 yards per catch through the air in the season opener.
With Wilson still sidelined and Achane an unproven commodity, Mostert can be expected to continue dominating the volume in the Dolphins backfield. While the matchup against the Patriots does ding his value a bit, the veteran should still be considered a volume-based RB2 who will play tons of snaps for a good offense.
