Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise Brown (shoulder) was officially elevated to the active roster from injured reserve. The Chiefs announced that he will make his 2024 debut in Week 16, when the team will face the Houston Texans. Naturally, fantasy managers have been interested.
He's played well with both the Baltimore Ravens and Arizona Cardinals in the past, and he's playing on a great offense designed by head coach Andy Reid and helmed by quarterback Patrick Mahomes II (ankle), who doesn't have an injury designation for Week 16.
So what is Brown's fantasy football outlook, and should you start him?

Marquise Brown Fantasy Football Outlook
It's likely that he won't get a big workload in his first game back. Kansas City likely wants to work him in gradually, and this could be a move for the playoffs more than anything. In fact, it's likely that the biggest impact of his return will be in diluting playing time and targets for the team's other receivers.

He has the speed and skill to make big plays, but counting on those in what is the second round of the fantasy football playoffs for most leagues isn't the best idea. He will have three weeks to acclimate himself to the offense and get valuable in-game reps as his team inevitably waltzes to another first-round bye.
Should I Start Marquise Brown in Week 16?
We wouldn't recommend it outside of very deep leagues. In most, there are probably better options on waivers or in free agency. The Chiefs aren't exactly desperately fighting for a playoff spot, and they've done just fine without him, cruising to a 13-1 record and clinching a playoff berth.
Hollywood Brown with no preseason fresh off a Lisfranc injury was doing this week 1…..we aren’t worried about no hamstring 😐

They likely aren't motivated to use him heavily and shouldn't have a ton of trouble keeping up with a struggling Houston Texans offense. We don't anticipate Brown getting more than five targets.
