New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller appears to be in line to be the starting RB for his team due to the injury to lead back Alvin Kamara (groin). Saints head coach Darren Rizzi shared a pessimistic update about Kamara, saying that he was unlikely to play in Week 16.
Miller has shown flashes of greatness this season, but he's received little playing time. And the fiasco of him being placed on injured reserve for a second time as an act of revenge from now-fired head coach Dennis Allen has made it harder to evaluate his play. Can't evaluate something that hasn't happened yet.
But what is Miller's fantasy football outlook? And should you start him in Week 16?

Kendre Miller Fantasy Football Outlook
Miller was drafted in the second round of the NFL Draft in 2023, so he has significant draft capital on his side. And he actually started siphoning some volume away from Kamara starting in Week 14, when he carried the ball 10 times for 32 yards and a touchdown.

He has great strength and can break through multiple tackles and stay on his feet, so it's hard to see the goal-line opportunities being taken from him. But it will be a tough matchup with the Green Bay Packers, who present a bigger challenge than the New York Giants he scored on two weeks ago.
And his pass-catching upside is questionable. He's only been targeted five times this season in four games of action, hauling in two passes for just one yard.
Should I Start Kendre Miller in Week 16?
In leagues with 12 or more teams, there are likely fantasy managers dealing with a ton of injuries to their RBs. If you're a Kamara manager, Miller is a solid option to replace him. It's a tough matchup, and it's unlikely that you'll get all the points back, though.
you know how backup QBs pickup the mannerisms and cadence of the starting QB?
Kendre Miller did that with the turf tape

We've been surprised multiple times by offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak's scheme, though. He helped WR Rashid Shaheed (knee), the aforementioned A.K., and even 30-year-old journeyman Marquez Valdes-Scantling (chest) have some of the biggest games of their careers.
He's incredibly creative, and his running schemes are excellent. So it's fine to be bullish on Miller, even if the Packers are projected to blow out the Saints. But there's plenty of risk. He should start in all leagues of 14 or more teams, and he's a solid injury fill-in for desperate teams otherwise.
