Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert hasn't gotten off to a strong start this season. After averaging about 11.7 PPR fantasy points last year, Goedert hasn't been a consistent fantasy option through four weeks.
Goedert has had zero games above 10 PPR fantasy points this season while averaging a mere 5.5 PPR fantasy points in four games in 2023. It's been a rough go for the 28-year-old tight end, and he is entering the do-not-start category even at a weak tight end position in fantasy.
So, should you start Goedert in Week 5? Let's dive in.

Dallas Goedert Fantasy Football Outlook
Goedert has not been a strong fantasy football option through four weeks despite the Eagles averaging the fifth-most yards per game (392). The veteran tight end just hasn't been getting the ball on offense. He has just 13 catches on 19 targets for 88 yards in 2023.
It hasn't been all bad for Goedert in the early going, though. He ran a route on every Jalen Hurts dropback in Week 4 against the Washington Commanders. The Eagles tight end also has at least five catches in two of four games this season. In those two weeks, he winded up with 8.2 PPR fantasy points and 9.1 PPR fantasy points.
The tight end position has been as brutal as it has ever been in fantasy football, which includes Goedert's poor play. But on an elite offense, he should pick it up soon.
Dallas Goedert Tight End Rankings Analysis
Goedert will enter a Week 5 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams as RotoBaller's seventh-best tight end. He'll be behind Detriot Lions tight end Sam LaPorta, Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram, and San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle this week. The Eagles star is also ranked 83rd overall.
Goedert is currently the TE32 in half-PPR formats and has just one top-20 tight end finish through the first four weeks. In Week 5, though, he'll draw a solid matchup against the Los Angeles Rams secondary. The Rams just gave up six catches to the Colts' tight end group in Week 4 for 107 yards and two touchdowns.
Should I Start Dallas Goedert In Week 5 Fantasy Football?
As disappointing as Goedert has been this season, you almost have to start him this week. The tight end position has been weak this season -- as it usually is. However, the Eagles have one of the best offenses in football and that alone makes the 28-year-old vet a solid start.
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni is also "certain" that Goedert will be more involved in the coming weeks and get his touches. Look for Philadelphia to feed the tight end as much as they can, especially after a rough start to the year.
Goedert is almost a must-start unless you have better options at the position. Some other tight ends I would start over the Eagles' playmaker are LaPorta or Engram.
