Chris Godwin is one of the most consistent wideouts in the NFL today. The former third-round pick out of Penn State has blossomed into a star, averaging 77.3 yards per game since the 2019 season, where he made his first Pro Bowl appearance.
He can make another Pro Bowl this season too, if the Bucs can continue their hot streak. Baker Mayfield and the rest of the team are on a roll but will face an incredibly difficult test against arguably the best team in the league, the Philadelphia Eagles.
How did Godwin perform in the first two weeks? Should you start Godwin in Week 3 against the Eagles? Let's take a look.

What Did Chris Godwin Do In Weeks 1 And 2?
The first two games of Godwin's 2023 season were nearly identical. He had five catches in both games and has accumulated 109 yards. Just like last season, he's being used as a slot receiver for short routes with Mike Evans getting the lion's share of the Baker Mayfield's deep passes.
Please do not overreact to just 2 weeks of football, these guys will all be fine:
Ja’Marr Chase
Justin Fields
Dallas Goedert
Darren Waller
Joe Mixon
Jahmyr Gibbs
Breece Hall
Josh Jacobs
Jaylen Waddle
AJ Brown
Trevor Lawrence

His stats are lower than usual so far, as he's currently the 48th wide receiver in the PPR format. But it's not like other wideouts like A.J. Brown, Terry McLaurin, Michael Thomas, and Ja'Marr Chase (who has fewer PPR points than Godwin) have set the world on fire.
Chris Godwin Wide Receiver Rankings Analysis
As per the latest RotoBaller staff ranking, Godwin is ranked #24. His stock has gone down in the past couple of weeks, but it could be on the up soon.
The thing we usually say about these players is "form is temporary, but class is permanent." Godwin has constantly proven his ability on the field, so we can assume that he'll get back to his usual self in the coming weeks.
Should I Start Chris Godwin In Week 3 Fantasy Football?
For this upcoming week, you should put Godwin as the WR2 or WR3. Despite the Eagles having an incredible defense, several wideouts like Kendrick Bourne, Jordan Addison, and Justin Jefferson have already had good games against them.
The success of these three players has led to the Eagles allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to wideouts this season. We expect their defense to sort itself out sooner than later, but it won't be easy against this fired-up Bucs squad.
If Darius Slay is tasked with defending Mike Evans, Godwin can take advantage by having a big night, and he can potentially move himself up in the rankings.
