New York Jets running back Breece Hall got off to a hot start in his rookie season last year, totaling 681 yards and five touchdowns in just seven games. Unfortunately, a torn ACL put an end to his debut campaign early.
In 2023, the Iowa State product was able to return as soon as the season began, but he has yet to see a fantasy-relevant workload and fantasy managers are surely wondering whether that will change in Week 3.
Should you start Hall in Week 3? Where does he rank among running backs? Let's dive in.

Breece Hall Fantasy Football Outlook
The Jets are set to host the New England Patriots in Week 3 after getting blown out by the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2. According to Yahoo Fantasy, New England has allowed the 10th-most fantasy points to running back thus far. However, early-season stats like those don't carry a ton of weight yet.
Raheem Mostert had a monster game against the Patriots, but the Dolphins' offense is one of the most high-powered units in the NFL, while the Zach Wilson-led Jets will likely have plenty of trouble moving the ball in this AFC East showdown.
Even if the Jets did have a brighter offensive outlook, Hall makes for a risky fantasy option since he has seen just 15 touches in his first two games this season. While many believe he's a more effective runner than Dalvin Cook at this point in their careers, the two will continue to split work in the backfield.
Breece Hall Running Back Rankings Analysis
Our consensus staff rankings have Hall at the RB25 spot in half-PPR formats this week. After logging just four touches in Week 2, the Jets will likely try to rely on its ground attack to take some pressure off of Zach Wilson, who has struggled mightily in four career games against the Patriots (two touchdowns, seven interceptions).
Hall is ranked 13 running back spots ahead of his teammate Cook and sits between James Conner and Javonte Williams in our Week 3 pecking order.
Should I Start Breece Hall In Week 3 Fantasy Football?
When using the "Who Should I Start" tool to compare a few similar players, Hall should be started ahead of fringe running backs in tough matchups like Jerome Ford.
However, if you have plenty of depth at running back, going with a healthy player with a locked-in workload like Miles Sanders is a better choice than starting Hall. Ultimately, Hall has plenty of upside if he sees a healthy number of touches, but his floor is also ultra-low in the context of his offense.
