New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson has had an unusual 2022 season. The former No. 2 overall pick missed the first three weeks of the year recovering from a knee injury he suffered in the preseason.
After starting the next seven games, the second-year quarterback got benched following the Week 11 loss to the New England Patriots. Replacing him was Mike White.
Unfortunately, White suffered a rib injury in the Week 14 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. Wilson started the Week 15 contest against the Detroit Lions with White unable to play.

Should I Pickup Zach Wilson For Week 16?
The former BYU star had a solid performance against the Lions with 317 passing yards and two touchdowns. Furthermore, Wilson scored 19.4 fantasy points last week, a season-high.
Sadly, White won’t play this week because of the rib injury, giving Wilson another week as the team’s starting quarterback. The former No. 2 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft will take on Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night.
After his solid performance last week, should fantasy players add the former BYU quarterback to their rosters?
Wilson is a solid streaming option, especially in superflex leagues. The Jaguars have surrendered 2.4 passing touchdowns and 22.7 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks over their past five matchups. Furthermore, they have given up at least 17.8 fantasy points in every contest.
What Other Quarterbacks Should I Consider For Week 16?
While Wilson is a solid option, fantasy players should add Brock Purdy off the waiver wire instead. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback is available in over 75% of ESPN leagues.
The last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft has played well since taking over for an injured Jimmy Garoppolo, averaging two passing touchdowns and 17.5 fantasy points per game. Furthermore, Purdy has been excellent in his two starts this season, posting the highest passer rating in the NFL over the past two weeks (124.6).
This week the rookie faces the Washington Commanders. They have surrendered 16.2 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season, slightly more than the league average. However, Washington has given 17 or more fantasy points to quarterbacks five times this year, including to Daniel Jones a few weeks ago.
Fantasy players that need a streaming option for Week 16 have two solid options in Wilson and Purdy.
