New England Patriots wide receiver Tyquan Thornton had a boom week against the Cleveland Browns and fantasy managers surely took notice. He'll be a hot add on the waiver wire as he produced a top-five standard league and top-eight PPR league finish among wide receivers.
The list of rookie wideouts with fantasy intrigue continues to grow as Thornton added his name to rookies set to break out.
Is Thornton's production a one-time thing or will he have real fantasy value down the stretch?

What Did Tyquan Thornton Do Last Week?
Thornton caught four of his five targets for 37 yards and a touchdown, adding three carries for 16 yards and another touchdown on the ground. New England's offense led by Bailey Zappe looked strong in the big win over the Cleveland Browns, so there might be more fantasy-relevant players on the roster than expected.
This was just Thornton's second game as a pro after he missed the first four weeks with a collarbone injury, so it was exciting to see the blazing-fast second-rounder produce early on.
Should I Pick Tyquan Thornton Off The Waiver Wire In Fantasy Football?
In deep leagues, Thornton should be rostered after his breakout performance. In shallower leagues, it becomes more complicated. Nelson Agholor missed last week with a hamstring injury and Kendrick Bourne left the game with a toe injury. If both of those players are back for Week 7, it's tough to know what Thornton's role will be.
He was drafted in the second round, so the Patriots want to get him involved, but head coach Bill Belichick hasn't been shy about making rookies wait their turn. That said, his range of outcomes for the rest of the season are wide. He might be locked into a significant role, or he might not see much action when the Patriots' receivers get healthy. Additionally, Mac Jones will be back soon, so there's a quarterback change to factor in.
Ultimately, Thornton is a low-risk, high-reward flyer, but it's too early to say he has locked-in value for the remainder of the season.
