Miami Dolphins wide receiver Trent Sherfield is a five-year NFL veteran coming off his strongest performance of the season and possibly his career in Week 10.
Sherfield was an undrafted free agent out of Vanderbilt in 2018. He played with the Arizona Cardinals from 2018-2020 and with the San Francisco 49ers last season before signing a one-year deal with the Dolphins for the 2022 season.
Sherfield has largely been operating as the third receiver for Miami behind superstars Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

What Did Trent Sherfield Do In Week 10?
Sherfield grabbed four receptions on five targets for 63 yards and a touchdown in the 39-17 rout of the Cleveland Browns. His target share sat at 15%, tied with Waddle and coming up one target shy of Hill.
This was just the third time this season that Sherfield surpassed three targets. He had four grabs for 55 yards in Week 4 against the Bengals, and three grabs for 44 yards against the Steelers. Is it safe to assume he only shows up against the AFC North?
Are There Any Concerns With Trent Sherfield?
Not according to Tyreek Hill:
All jokes aside, Sherfield did look very impressive on the touchdown catch:
Despite his teammates hyping him up and his clear talent, Sherfield has never been a consistent option for fantasy purposes in his five seasons in the NFL. With Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle eating a consistent amount of targets for Miami, it is safe to assume that Sherfield will not be a consistent option going forward.
Should I Pickup Trent Sherfield in Fantasy Football?
Sherfield can be left on the waiver wire this week but could be monitored moving forward. Should Tyreek Hill or Jaylen Waddle come down with an injury at any point this season, he could be a very intriguing addition given QB Tua Tagovailoa’s proven ability to support two receivers.
He appears to be the next man up according to to snap percentages:
If you have the bench depth to add him, it certainly would not hurt, but in most leagues, he is best left on waivers given that he has never been a consistent performer with a five-year sample size.
