It's never too late in the season for receivers to break out. Or for them to have anomalistically good production that's bound to regress. Or for them to break out a second time and for this breakout to be real. Or they could have a game that's not necessarily an outlier in terms of usage but looks good because of touchdowns.
Or for the defense to bust a few coverages and give the WR a big day. Or for those busted coverages to happen to be in a game where the WR really "puts it all together." This is all really confusing, isn't it? Such is the nature of football in general. It's tough to analyze what just happened correctly, and it's also tough to predict what happens next.
So let's look at two receivers who may or may not have had true breakouts due to... let's just look at them.

Romeo Doubs Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs caught three of five targets for 40 yards and two touchdowns in Week 15, scoring 19 PPR fantasy points. The great part about Doubs and about all the Packers receivers is you really can't predict which ones will go off in any given week.

Looking at highlights doesn't tell us anything we don't already know, either. For starters, the Packers are a run-first team, so they'll opt to stay away from pass plays as much as they can. Quarterback Jordan Love hasn't attempted more than 30 passes in a game since Week 9.
When he throws it more, he spreads it between Doubs, fellow receivers Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks, tight end Tucker Kraft, and running back Josh Jacobs. There really isn't much concentration on one player. Doubs only had three catches, and that's nothing to get excited about.
Doubs is probably only worth starting in very deep leagues, where he's probably already rostered.
Jalen McMillan Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan has been mostly a disappointment this season. Despite the perfect opportunity to step into a bigger role due to the injury to WR Chris Godwin (ankle) and several games without elite WR Mike Evans on the field, JMac hasn't done much this year.
Jalen McMillan wide open for his 3rd TD in his last two games!

Wowza, he was wide open. The coverage was absolutely busted by the defense, so this wasn't some Herculean effort, but he has had three TDs over his last two games. He's definitely worth picking up, as the Bucs have an elite offense designed by offensive coordinator Liam Coen and quarterback Baker Mayfield, who is having a career season.
Tampa Bay also has a bad defense, so they're often forced to throw the ball plenty.
Should I Pickup Romeo Doubs or Jalen McMillan For Fantasy Football?
McMillan and it's not close. McMillan has a much better role week-to-week, a great offensive coordinator who isn't afraid to call a ton of pass plays, an incredibly good quarterback, and plenty of room to work on his game. Doubs is stuck in a huge pass-catching committee and is hard to trust in fantasy.
