Wide receiver Robbie Anderson was traded from the Carolina Panthers to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for late-round future draft picks early this week. The veteran wideout had just 13 catches for 203 yards and a touchdown heading into Week 7.
The team has looked to move Anderson for a while but finally came to a deal after some sideline antics from Anderson in the loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The explosive down-field threat joins an offense led by Kyler Murray, so there is going to be a new fantasy football intrigue for Anderson.
Where does Anderson stand in the Cardinals' wide receiver rotation, and what can we expect from him in fantasy football?

Why Was Robbie Anderson Traded To The Cardinals?
Anderson got into a confrontation with Panthers' wide receiver coach Joe Dailey and was ultimately told to leave the field by interim head coach Steve Wilks. The frustration has been brewing for Anderson since last year, and it seemed to finally boil over. The next day, Anderson was traded.
Arizona looks to find a way to replace Marquise Brown (foot) as he's expected to be out for at least six weeks. Originally, the team thought Brown would miss the rest of the season, but there's optimism his injury isn't as serious as they thought. DeAndre Hopkins will make his debut in Week 7 after serving his six-week suspension, and Rondale Moore looks to finally be healthy. That said, you can never have enough offensive weapons, so Arizona felt the Anderson trade was worth making.
Robbie Anderson Season Outlook
Anderson is known for his long-play touchdowns, but it's tough to expect him to get enough volume to be a steady fantasy producer. Hopkins, Moore, and Greg Dortch have been around the team longer and have all excelled at certain times. Anderson will take time to get worked into the offense, and since we're already on to Week 7, there's no telling how long that will take.
Especially since Marquise Brown is now expected to come back at some point, Anderson's window to be productive is short. It wouldn't be surprising if he has a few explosive plays, but that can't be counted on in traditional fantasy leagues.
Ultimately, Anderson is a fine pickup in deep best ball leagues and a fun DFS play, but in traditional shallow leagues, he doesn't warrant much consideration.
