Mecole Hardman has been a valuable, yet inconsistent player for the Chiefs since he was drafted in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. There was speculation that he was drafted to replace former Chiefs wideout Tyreek Hill, who was battling off-field issues.
Hardman is on pace for 529 yards so far, and he's already one touchdown shy of tying his career-high in a season with seven. He's been a key cog in the Chiefs' passing attack, though his actual fantasy production has been incredibly volatile.
Hardman's Week 7 performance against the San Francisco 49ers was arguably the best of his career, catching four passes for 32 yards and a touchdown while adding 28 yards and two more touchdowns on the ground.

Should I Pick Up Mecole Hardman In Fantasy Football?
Despite Hardman's finish as the overall WR3 in Week 7, it's unlikely he scores three touchdowns in any game moving forward. That's a tall task for any player to do, and his three touchdowns are the sole reason why he was a top fantasy wideout this week.
The other point to note is that while Hardman was the star of the Chiefs' Week 7 win, his fellow wideouts JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling posted 7-124-1 and 3-111 stat lines, respectively. Hardman is still a distant third option among the Chiefs' wideouts.
In the Chiefs' offense, there is an abundance of mouths to feed, meaning there may be a different top wideout every week. However, if the offense continues to run like a well-oiled machine, it could support multiple fantasy-relevant receivers.
Hardman may be worth an add this week, but not at the expense of a waiver priority or a high amount of FAAB. If there's room on your bench, stashing Hardman and waiting to see if the Chiefs build on his Week 7 performance may be the best move rather than starting him.
Getting a share of the Chiefs' elite offense is always a good idea in fantasy football, but starting Hardman this week is a risky move. He may be worth a wait-and-see bench stash. His Week 7 usage and performance do offer a look at how lethal he could be if he was a full-time starter.
