Atlanta Falcons quarterback Marcus Mariota has played well in his first season with the team. After spending the past few years with the Las Vegas Raiders as Derek Carr’s backup, the veteran quarterback signed with the Falcons in the offseason.
He was named the starter well before Week 1 despite Atlanta using a third-round pick on Desmond Ridder. Mariota has been a solid fantasy quarterback this year, averaging 15.2 fantasy points per game.
The former Oregon Duck star is the QB12 for the year, ahead of several bigger-name players like Justin Herbert and Aaron Rodgers.

Should I Pickup Marcus Mariota For Fantasy Football Week 10?
While the veteran quarterback has played well this season, he is rostered in only 34.8% of ESPN leagues. Part of Mariota’s fantasy success has come from his legs. The former Oregon Duck is one of the top running quarterbacks in the NFL this season.
Mariota is sixth among quarterbacks in fantasy points per game on the ground this season. He is averaging 6.7 rushing attempts for 33.8 rushing yards per game. His 304 rushing yards are the seventh-most in the NFL among quarterbacks, while his three rushing touchdowns are the fifth-most at the position.
Meanwhile, the veteran quarterback has an excellent matchup in Week 10. The Carolina Panthers have surrendered 16.1 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season, slightly above the league average. They have given up at least 18 fantasy points to quarterbacks in four of their past six matchups, including 22.4 fantasy points to Mariota in Week 8.
What Other Quarterbacks Should I Consider?
Fantasy players who need a bye-week replacement for Lamar Jackson or Joe Burrow should consider starting Mariota. However, Jimmy Garoppolo is an excellent backup option if the Atlanta quarterback isn’t available.
Since taking over for the injured Trey Lance, Garoppolo has been a consistent fantasy quarterback. He is averaging 15.4 fantasy points per game this season, scoring at least 13.9 fantasy points in all but one game.
Furthermore, the veteran quarterback has picked up his play over the past month. Garoppolo has thrown two touchdowns in each of the past four games, scoring 16.3 or more fantasy points in every contest.
Meanwhile, he has a solid matchup this week against the Los Angeles Chargers. They have given up two or more passing touchdowns in 62.5% of their games this season. With a healthy receiving core, Garoppolo is a solid streaming option for Week 10.
