The NFL trade deadline action continued Thursday as the Kansas City Chiefs acquired the Giants' former first-round wide receiver Kadarius Toney for a compensatory third-round pick and a sixth-round pick in 2023.
Toney joins a Chiefs receiving core that includes JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Mecole Hardman, and Skyy Moore. This group has been meshing well as of late, and now adds another dynamic talent.
Toney had been nursing a hamstring injury this season, as he's played only two games and only has two catches on the year. Many have speculated that his hamstring injury was a cover-up for the team agreeing to sit him until he is traded.

Should I Pick Up Kadarius Toney In Fantasy Football?
While it may take Toney a minute before he's up to speed on the playbook and comfortable playing in the offense, as soon as he becomes acclimated, he'll be a very active and contributing weapon in the Chiefs' offense. He also has the Week 8 bye week to get ready for his debut.
Toney's elite speed and dynamic playmaking ability make him an incredibly intriguing fantasy option for the Chiefs if he's able to stay healthy and become a full-time player. Toney can give Patrick Mahomes something similar to what he had with Tyreek Hill.
While the Chiefs do have a lot of mouths to feed, their offense is potent enough to support fantasy-relevant receivers. Plus, adding Toney makes their offense more dynamic, and will likely change the way that the defense lines up against them.
We've seen how good a smaller, quicker receiver can be in the Chiefs' offense. While Toney is obviously not Hill, he has similar movement and separation abilities. Mahomes should be able to mesh with Toney's talents right off the bat.
Toney has a mouth-watering upside with Kansas City, there are just a lot of factors to consider. His health, role, and how quickly he's able to contribute are things to monitor. However, if he's available, stash him immediately. The upside is too good to pass on.
