Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields didn’t have an ideal rookie season, as he averaged only 10.6 per game and split time as the starter.
Heading into his second year, many had questions about the young quarterback. He lacks big-name weapons in the receiving game other than Darnell Mooney. Furthermore, the Bears limited his pass attempts to start the year.
Over the first four games of the season, Fields averaged only 16.8 pass attempts and 9.4 fantasy points per game. However, the second-year quarterback has earned more pass attempts lately, averaging 23 pass attempts per game over the past four weeks. More importantly, his fantasy production has started to take off.

Should I Pickup Justin Fields After His Week 8 Performance?
Yesterday the young star had arguably the best performance of his career. Fields completed 73.9% of his pass attempts and had two passing touchdowns. Furthermore, he added 60 rushing yards and a score on the ground, giving him a season-high 26 fantasy points in Week 8.
More importantly, the former Ohio State quarterback has averaged 21.2 fantasy points per game over the past four weeks, scoring at least 17 fantasy points in every contest. Furthermore, the young star has five total touchdowns over the past two weeks and is a top-three quarterback during that span.
Yet, Fields is available in over 70% of ESPN leagues. The former first-round pick is the ideal starting option for Week 9 with six teams on a bye. Furthermore, he is also worth picking up if you lack a clear plug-and-play starter like Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen.
What Other Quarterbacks Should I Consider?
While Fields is the top streaming option and waiver wire addition this week, there is a chance he is already on a roster in your league. If the Chicago quarterback isn’t an option, fantasy players should consider Andy Dalton.
The New Orleans Saints named Dalton the starter last week despite Jameis Winston being healthy enough to play.
The veteran has started the past five games, averaging 15.6 fantasy points per game. However, the former TCU star has thrown six touchdowns in the past two games. Furthermore, he has averaged 21.9 fantasy points per game and is a top-five quarterback during that span.
Hopefully, the Saints will get Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry back from injury this week. Dalton has top-five upside in Week 9 against the Baltimore Ravens if both veterans play.
