James Cook had the best game of his career on Thursday night against the New England Patriots. The rookie totaled a career-high 105 scrimmage yards in Buffalo's Week 13 24-10 victory. Cook tallied 20 touches, another career-high, and 16.5 points against a Patriots defense that was allowing the third-fewest fantasy points to running backs heading into Week 13.
The former Georgia Bulldog played one less snap than starter Devin Singletary and commanded a 43% offensive snap share, his largest share yet. Cook caught all six of his targets, more receptions than his last eight games combined.

Should I Pickup James Cook for Week 14 Fantasy Football?
The rapid change in Cook's usage suddenly makes him a headlining waiver wire add for next week. The rookie is owned in 32% of Sleeper leagues and 25% of ESPN leagues.
In Week 14, James Cook and the Bills return to Buffalo to play a crucial divisional game against the New York Jets. The Jets won the first matchup in Week 9 and both teams are jockeying for playoff positions over the final third of the season.
The 23-year-old ran the ball four times for 15 yards and added two receptions for 18 yards in his first game against New York. Given the uptick in opportunities, Cook should fare better this time around. Stash James Cook ahead of Week 14, but I wouldn't start the rookie until we see consistency.
What is James Cook's Fantasy Football Outlook For 2022?
20 touches in Buffalo's high-powered offense is immensely valuable for fantasy football. The two games Cook tallied 10+ touches earlier in the season were followed by games with five or fewer touches. If the rookie can sustain consistently high levels of volume, he is immediately a week-in, week-out starter.
Cook is averaging an efficient 5.4 YPC and 10.1 YPR compared to Devin Singletary's 4.4 and 7.3 marks, respectively. Singletary has a strong grip on the red zone role, out-touching Cook 33-8 from inside the 20.
If the opportunities coming from the backfield are split evenly between the rookie and veteran, James Cook is a valuable fantasy asset for the rest of the season. There are few running backs on the waivers that have more upside than Cook moving forward.
