Detroit Lions wide receiver DJ Chark has played well in his first year with the team. The veteran pass catcher is the WR72 for the year, averaging eight half-point PPR fantasy points per game.
Unfortunately, he has missed six games this year because of injuries. Yet, the veteran wide receiver has been a critical waiver wire addition over the past few weeks.
Over the past five weeks, Chark has averaged 4.8 targets and 10.5 fantasy points per game, scoring 12.8 or more fantasy points three times.

Should I Pickup DJ Chark For Week 18?
The veteran receiver had an appealing matchup in Week 17 against the Chicago Bears. Unfortunately, he had only four targets in the game, catching two for 56 receiving yards. Chark ended the matchup with only 6.6 fantasy points, letting fantasy players down.
Despite his strong play since returning from injury, Chark has struggled the past few weeks. He has averaged only 3.7 targets and 7.2 fantasy points per game over the past three weeks, scoring fewer than 6.7 fantasy points twice.
More importantly, he faces the Green Bay Packers in a must-win matchup on Sunday night. With a win, the Packers will make the playoffs, while the Lions need a win and a Seattle Seahawks loss earlier in the day to make the playoffs.
Meanwhile, the Packers held Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen to only two receptions for 31 receiving yards and 4.1 fantasy points last week.
What Wide Receiver Should I Target Off The Waiver Wire?
Instead of adding Chark, fantasy players should add Isaiah Hodgins for Week 18. Over the past five games, the second-year receiver has averaged 6.6 targets and 12.7 fantasy points per game, scoring 12 or more fantasy points in all but one of those contests. Furthermore, the former Oregon State star has scored a touchdown in four of the past five games.
Last week he caught four of five targets for 42 receiving yards and a touchdown against the Indianapolis Colts, scoring 12.2 fantasy points.
Meanwhile, he has a solid matchup in Week 18 against the Philadelphia Eagles. They have struggled to slow down opposing wide receivers lately. Over the past two weeks, Philadelphia has surrendered 26 receptions for 334 receiving yards, three receiving touchdowns, and 64.4 fantasy points to wide receivers.
Furthermore, the Eagles have given up nine receiving touchdowns to wide receivers over the past six weeks after giving up only six touchdowns over the first 10 games this season.
