What Did Josh Downs Do In Week 7?
On Sunday against the Browns, Josh Downs was targeted six times, catching five passes for 125 yards and a touchdown. It was the second week in a row that Downs has found the end zone.
The rookie wideout has now been targeted at least five times in all but one game this season, and he's finished with 50-plus receiving yards in three of the past five contests.
He's also been on the field a ton for the Colts. There hasn't been a single game this season where Downs played under 70% of the team's offensive snaps. The Colts have developed a clear top three at receiver, with Michael Pittman Jr., Alec Pierce, and Downs being the only receivers to see serious snaps. This week, only one other wide receiver played—Isaiah McKenzie, who was on the field for just nine snaps.
Is Josh Downs A Good Fantasy Football Pickup For Week 8?
You should pick Josh Downs up. In fact, he's the top priority add at wide receiver this week. He's had three consecutive strong games for the Colts, starting with his six catches for 97 yards in Week 5 against Tennessee.
With Gardner Minshew II set to be the team's quarterback going forward, Downs should continue to perform well. Minshew has shown that he likes to target Downs.
Fantasy managers in need of a wide receiver this week should absolutely target Josh Downs on the waiver wire. He's a high-upside rookie whose role continues to grow.
