Miami Dolphins running back Jaylen Wright is the newest addition to the Dolphins track team (sorry, typo, meant football team!) and is an intriguing option for waiver wire pickups in Week 3.
Wright was drafted in large part due to his ridiculous speed. The 210-pound back ran a 4.38 40-yard dash and thus presents interesting upside as a handcuff to lead RB De'Von Achane.
Should you pick up Jaylen Wright off waivers? Is he worth rostering? Let's dive in.

Jaylen Wright Week 3 Waiver Wire Outlook
Wright is becoming a more intriguing option over time. To start the season, he was buried on the depth chart, so much so that he was inactive for Week 1, with fellow RBs Raheem Mostert, Achane, and Jeff Wilson Jr. as the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 running backs for Miami. However, a lot has changed.
Raheem Mostert has been ruled OUT for tonight's game vs. the Bills. @profootballdoc expects him to miss next week as well but avoid IR. #GoFins

Mostert missed the Dolphins' Week 2 game against the Bills with a chest injury, and it's possible he could miss more time. Whether the Dolphins choose to be more cautious with his injury, given the presence of more depth at the RB position (namely Wright), remains to be seen, but Mostert is 32, and it would be unwise to rush him back.
In addition, Wilson suffered an oblique injury last game and was pulled out of the game because of it. Wilson may not play in Week 3, and if he does, it's possible he isn't 100%, which could lead to more playing time for the healthy RBs.

Though this may be good news for Wright, he hasn't been productive in his playing time in the regular season. Perhaps owing to his inexperience, or the game script, Wright had five carries in Week 2 and gained just four yards.

Of course, speedsters like Wright are capable of ripping off huge plays any time they touch the ball, and Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel is a wizard at utilizing elite speed to help players make massive plays, but it remains to be seen how he fares with a larger role.
Should I Pickup Jaylen Wright in Week 3?
It's probably a good idea considering McDaniel's history of success with RB production and the injury situation of the RB room. Achane has dealt with numerous injuries in the past, and he's an undersized RB with a massive workload, so it's possible he could end up with an aliment of his own.
Achane played through an ankle issue last game, and it appears that he's healthy now, but that could change at any moment. Wright could be thrust into a starting or possibly backup role soon, and that's very valuable for fantasy, given his speed and the scheme that he's in.
Pick up Wright if he's available, especially in deeper leagues.
