DeAndre Carter is a 29-year-old wide receiver. A career journeyman, Carter has bounced around the NFL since 2015. After spending last year with Washington, he signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers ahead of 2022.

Carter has added depth to an injury-plagued Chargers' receiving corps this season. He's been a serviceable fantasy asset in 2022 and posted his best game of the year last week against the Arizona Cardinals, catching seven of 10 targets for 73 receiving yards and a TD.

Should I Pickup DeAndre Carter Off the Waiver Wire in Fantasy Football?

With Mike Williams sidelined yet again in Week 12, Carter put forth his best performance of the season.

He worked in three-WR sets with Keenan Allen and Joshua Palmer against Arizona. Carter will keep this role as long as Williams (or Allen) is out of the lineup.

Unfortunately, Carter's fantasy value is dependent on the availability of L.A.'s other receivers. His 10 targets in Week 12 should be considered an outlier, but he is indeed fantasy viable as long as Williams is out of the lineup. Needy fantasy GMs can take a flier on Carter during waivers this week but should accept that his FLEX value will nosedive when the Chargers' receiving corps is at full strength.
