Two New Orleans Saints wide receivers will have a chance to step up in the absence of team-leading wide receivers Chris Olave (concussion, ruled out for Week 7) and Rashid Shaheed (knee, out for the season). While both will have expanded opportunities in the short term, Olave will return soon.
This means one of these receivers has a chance of stepping into the near-full-time role the speedster Shaheed previously occupied. It can be hard to predict season-long roles for players when they're both rookies and haven't had chances to put a lot of play on tape.
So should you add Bub Means or Mason Tipton off waivers ahead of Thursday Night Football?

Bub Means Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook
If Week 6 was any indication, Means is the next man up and should be a priority target in this new-look offense. Though starting quarterback Derek Carr (oblique) didn't play in Week 6 and isn't likely to play on Thursday, at least rookie backup Spencer Rattler preferred to throw the ball Means' way.
No one knows what Bub Means but it’s provocative!

He also has a legendary name, and though that doesn't affect fantasy production, it's important to find humor in the worst of times. The Saints are being decimated by injuries right now.

Despite this, Means had an excellent game, and eight targets is pretty nice. He looks like he could have a decent role, at least before Olave returns. Means caught four passes for 45 yards and a touchdown.
Mason Tipton Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook
The rookie out of Yale, meanwhile, logged just two targets, catching one pass for 15 yards and no scores. He barely registers on the fantasy radar. While Means was a fifth-round NFL Draft selection, Tipton was undrafted out of Yale. He was considered a long shot to even make the active roster at one point.
A guy to watch in the wake of Rashid Shaheed's injury is Mason Tipton.
He's 5-8 and 187 lbs. Speed guy. Not big like Bub Means. Was the early talk of Saints camp, seems like he could get a chance.
I have stashed him only in my deepest league: 14 tms 3 WRs triple flex PPR.

Should I Pickup Bub Means or Mason Tipton For Fantasy Football?
If you're desperate for receiver depth or in deeper leagues, it makes sense to pick up Means. Tipton should probably stay on waivers. The offense overall is in such bad shape, though, that neither may have decent games on TNF. If you take a chance on anyone, it should be the guy who had four times as many targets as the other.
Big slot receiver Devaughn Vele has the "best" projected matchup on Thursday Night Football against the Saints.

The Broncos field a tough defense. The likely outcome of this game seems to be a low-scoring affair. For most leagues with 12 or fewer teams, there are better options than both.
