Brandon Pfaadt has been dominant since being called up to Triple-A Reno last year. He has been making his push to join the big league rotation after leading the minor leagues in strikeouts last year with 218.

Minor League Track Record

Pfaadt was no match for minor league bats in 2022 while sporting a 3.83 ERA in 167 innings pitched between Double-A and Triple-A. So far in 2023, it has been more of the same, displaying impressive control and a remarkable strikeout upside. 

Pfaadt currently has a 30:6 K:BB through five games at Reno with a 3.91 ERA. Historically, the Pacific Coast League (PCL) has been favorable to hitters, as most pitchers struggle to keep the ball in the park. We’re grading pitching on a curve for the PCL and Pfaadt has looked phenomenal. 

Starting Rotation Blunders

In terms of upside pitching stashes, Pfaadt ranks second on the list. He is only behind Taj Bradley, who has proved himself through three starts in the majors.
