With Week 12 of the NFL season upon us, some fantasy managers might be scrambling to find solid QB options due to injuries and bye weeks.
Washington Commanders signal-caller Taylor Heinicke has played well enough in relief of injured Washington QB Carson Wentz to be named the starter for the squad's Week 12 game. He draws a desirable matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
Is Heinicke a reliable fantasy option? Should you pick him up in fantasy leagues for Week 12?

What Has Taylor Heinicke Done This Season?
Washington's backup QB Taylor Heinicke has led the Commanders to four wins in their last five games since stepping in for injured starter Carson Wentz in Week 7. Heinicke has been named the starter for Washington's Week 12 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
While Heinicke has amassed an impressive win-loss record, his fantasy production has been underwhelming. The Commanders' pivot has failed to throw a TD or reach double-digit fantasy points in either of the team's last two games.
Should I Pick Up Taylor Heinicke And Start Him In Week 12 Fantasy Football?
While Heinicke has the Commanders winning football games, the same can't be said for his fantasy managers. The Old Dominion product hasn't accounted for a TD since Week 9.
Despite his recent lack of fantasy production, Heinicke's Week 12 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons puts him on the fantasy radar. Atlanta has allowed the second-most passing yards in the NFL this season and stands just 28th in the league in Pass Defense DVOA.
The enticing matchup - along with the rushing ability Heinicke's displayed in the past - means he can be utilized in Two-QB and SuperFlex leagues. However, he should only be considered in standard fantasy leagues by managers that are in desperate need of help at the QB position.
