The Indianapolis Colts chose to bolster their receiving corps in the 2022 draft by selecting Alec Pierce in the second round.
Pierce has been showing why the team used an early draft choice on him as he has been productive for the Colts over the past three games.
The rookie out of the University of Cincinnati could still be sitting on waiver wires in many leagues, which makes him an interesting name to consider when setting waiver claims ahead of Week 7. Should fantasy managers be adding Pierce off of waivers ahead of Week 7? Let's dive in and take a look.

What Did Alec Pierce Do In Week 6?
In Week 6, Pierce continued a strong four-game stretch, catching three of seven targets for 45 yards and a touchdown in a comeback win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Pierce's touchdown catch was a clutch one as it wound up being the game-winner on a 28-yard pass from Matt Ryan with 17 seconds left in the game.

Overall, Pierce's seven targets in Week 6 only registered as a 12.5% target share as Michael Pittman Jr., Deon Jackson, and Parris Campbell all finished ahead of him, drawing double-digit targets. That being said, the recent usage for Pierce has been encouraging.
Should I Add Alec Pierce Off the Waiver Wire in Fantasy Football?
Pierce's season got off to a slow start as he was unable to catch either of his two targets back in Week 1. He also suffered a concussion in the season opener, a head injury that prevented him from suiting up in Week 2.
Since returning from the injury in Week 3, Pierce has been playing well. Starting in Week 3, he has posted stat lines of three catches on five targets for 61 yards, four catches on six targets for 80 yards, eight catches on nine targets for 81 yards, and then his three-catch, 49-yard, one-touchdown outing last Sunday.
Pierce is slowly getting ramped up in the Indy passing attack as his number of routes run has increased greatly over the past two games.

The Colts also recently placed Ashton Dulin on injured reserve with a foot injury. Dulin was drawing a pedestrian 9.7% target share through five games. While not a huge number, it does vacate some extra targets for Pierce moving forward.
Based on his solid play over the past two weeks, Pierce needs to be rostered in leagues of 12 teams and larger. A 10% FAAB bid is recommended unless you are desperate due to injury or bye weeks where you absolutely need him in Week 7. Pierce has instant value as a flex option in deeper leagues and could end up being an every-week starter if he continues to progress.
