Arizona Cardinals tight end Zach Ertz saw a high number of targets early in the season, but he struggled to really do much with those targets. He has two games with 50-plus yards but hasn't topped 22 yards in his other games.
After six weeks of play, is it time to rethink rostering Ertz in fantasy leagues? His numbers this year are underwhelming, as he's caught 24 passes for just 168 yards. His 28.0 yards per game is his lowest mark since his rookie season.
Should fantasy managers drop Zach Ertz this week? Read on for the fantasy football drop analysis of the Cardinals tight end.

Can Zach Ertz Be A Reliable Fantasy Option?
Zach Ertz has had a weird season. Week 1 really encapsulates how 2023 has gone for him, as he was targeted 10 times, caught six passes, and ended up with just 21 yards. While he's had a couple of strong outings, Ertz has routinely finished with low yardage totals.
In Week 6 against the Rams, Ertz was targeted five times, catching two passes for 22 yards. It was the third time in the last four games that Ertz had only two receptions.
Furthering complicating Ertz's fantasy outlook, he played just 46% of Arizona's offensive snaps this week, the first time he'd fallen under 50%. In Week 5, he played 75% of the snaps. Meanwhile, Trey McBride played 58% of the team's targets, his highest rate of the season.
Can I Drop Zach Ertz in Fantasy Football?
The only real fantasy appeal for Zach Ertz has been his volume, but if Trey McBride is really ahead of him on the depth chart now, that volume's going to dry up.
Ertz just isn't the player he once was. He's not going to have electric plays like he did in his earlier days with the Eagles. Fantasy managers in 14-team PPR leagues should hang onto him a little bit longer because the pickings at tight end are slim, but in other formats, Ertz can safely be dropped. He might still have a few solid games going forward, but you can live with missing out on that since it also means you're missing out on some very low-scoring games as well.
