Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd operated as the second option for quarterback Joe Burrow from Weeks 8-12 with Ja’Marr Chase on the shelf. Despite the veteran receiving a decent target share, he only found the end zone one time and failed to surpass 44 receiving yards.
Boyd has performed stronger with Chase in the lineup, although his performances remain inconsistent and impossible to predict when he will find the end zone. In Chase’s return, he tallied four receptions on five targets for 60 yards in the win over Kansas City. Boyd also dropped a pass that would have gone for a touchdown.
Is Tyler Boyd a Flex Option in Fantasy Football?
Boyd was a decent flex option while receiving a consistent target share with Ja’Marr Chase out, but with Chase’s return, his target share will be too hard to predict to make him a reliable flex option.
Boyd’s strongest performance this season (8-155-1) came in Week 7 against Atlanta with Chase in the lineup. His weakest performance came in Week 12 against Tennessee (2-16) without Chase. He has demonstrated a high ceiling and a low floor throughout his career, and this remains true even with Chase back in action.

Tyler Boyd can be dropped in all formats aside from very deep leagues. His production is too hard to predict, and his roster spot can be taken by a player that has the potential to step into a more consistent role.
Should I Start Tyler Boyd in Week 14 Fantasy Football?
Despite a fairly easy matchup with the Cleveland Browns in Week 14, Boyd is best left on benches or dropped from rosters.
Against Cleveland in Week 8, he grabbed three receptions for 38 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown salvaged his day, but with touchdowns being nearly impossible to predict, Boyd cannot be started with confidence this week.
