Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. had high expectations entering the 2024 fantasy football season. Unfortunately, he failed to live up to them.
The former Clemson star is the RB38 for the year, averaging 7.1 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. By comparison, Etienne averaged 11 fantasy points per game as a rookie and 14.9 per contest last season.
Should fantasy players drop the veteran running back or hope he can turn it around over the final five weeks?

Should I Drop Travis Etienne Jr.?
Etienne has been one of the biggest and most common fantasy football busts this year. The fourth-year pro averaged 11.6 fantasy points per game over the first three weeks, totaling 10.5 or more in every contest. Furthermore, he had two rushing touchdowns in those three games. By comparison, Etienne has averaged 4.8 fantasy points per game since the first three weeks, scoring nine or fewer in every contest.

While the veteran hasn’t found the end zone since Week 2, Etienne remains the Jaguars’ starting running back. Fantasy players in shallow leagues can drop the former Clemson star. However, fantasy players in standard-size leagues likely don’t have a better option on the waiver wire.
Should I Start Travis Etienne Jr. In Week 14?
The veteran running back has only one game with over 60 scrimmage yards this season. By comparison, Etienne had 12 games where he hit that mark in 2023 and 2022. While fantasy players should hold onto him, the former Clemson star is an awful starting option in Week 14.
Travis Etienne games with over 60 total yards:
2022: 12
2023: 12
2024: 1— Ian Hartitz (@Ihartitz) December 5, 2024
Etienne faces a Tennessee Titans defense that has held running backs to 52.5 rushing yards and 15.8 fantasy points per game over their previous four contests before last week’s blowout loss to the Washington Commanders. The Titans should have no trouble keeping this game close with Mac Jones under center for the Jaguars, meaning Etienne likely won’t see the volume needed to have a startable fantasy performance.
