Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. returned to play in Week 9, and fantasy managers who selected him early in drafts expecting him to help their teams win were slapped with a dismal four PPR fantasy point performance. The supposed lead back of the team carried the ball just three times for 24 yards and caught two of his three targets for six yards.
It was a miserable day for the entire Jags backfield, though. Backup Tank Bigsby ran eight times for a paltry 22 yards and third-string man D'Ernest Johnson rushed just two times for six yards. Jacksonville found most of their success through the air on Sunday.
So is Etienne a safe player to drop or should fantasy managers hang on to him longer?

Should I Drop Travis Etienne Jr. in Fantasy Football?
It's probably a bit early to drop the fourth-year pro, but it also doesn't make much sense to start him. It appears that Bigsby is now the primary runner, and while No. 1 technically could share a pass-catching role, Johnson hasn't been a slouch in that area either. It's important to remember ETN was suffering from a hamstring injury leading up to the game, though.
Despite receiving calls, the #Jaguars decided to hold onto RB Travis Etienne
Teams were hesitant to meet the Jaguars asking price, hence keeping him put in Jacksonville

There were rumors that he could be traded, but that didn't come to pass. For now, he will presumably continue to share the backfield with his backup, No. 4. It's possible he could have a better game in Week 10 once he's had more time to let his leg heal. Hammy issues are tricky, and players often aren't at 100% the week they return from them.
Who Should I Pickup in Week 10 Fantasy Football?
There aren't many RBs available on waivers that you can pick up other than lottery tickets and handcuffs. Or handcuffs that are lottery tickets.
One of these lottery tickets is Baltimore Ravens running back Keaton Mitchell. He averaged a ridiculous 8.4 yards per carry in 2023, leading the league among running backs with 45 or more carries. He's one of the most explosive accelerators the NFL has ever seen, and he has a chance of housing it on any play.

He's been back at practice for over a week now, and will likely make his debut either on Thursday Night Football against the Cincinnati Bengals or in Week 10 when the Ravens face the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has the highest per-touch upside of any RB you can get off waivers or from free agency right now.
