Rashee Rice suffered a freak knee injury in Week 4. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw an interception and in the ensuing chaos, Mahomes dived in an attempt to tackle the defender with the ball and wound up contacting Rice's knee.
The team was very cautious in diagnosing the issue, but it's become clear that Rice is going to need surgery. His recovery is expected to take at least three months, which would sideline him for the remainder of the regular season at least.
Should fantasy managers drop Rashee Rice ahead of Week 6?

Should I Drop Rashee Rice in Fantasy Football?
We don't need to spend much time on this. Rashee Rice is expected to miss the remainder of the regular season, so fantasy managers in redraft leagues have no reason to hold on to the injured KC receiver.
Sources: While #Chiefs star WR Rashee Rice’s season is expected to be over, he did receive positive news today from Dr. Dan Cooper.

He's obviously worth holding in dynasty leagues, but his outlook there is iffy as he is still facing a looming suspension after he was arrested for his part in a high-speed crash during a street race. He could certainly miss time in 2025 because of the suspension, lowering his dynasty value.
Who Should I Pickup in Week 6 Fantasy Football?
Rice isn't the only Chiefs receiver who is injured. Marquise Brown is also out and won't play in the regular season. That's the team's top two receivers who are currently sidelined.
Rookie Xavier Worthy has done a good job finding the end zone, scoring two receiving and two rushing touchdowns already this season, but he hasn't had more than three catches in a game. The team needs a No. 1 receiver to step up.
That could come via trade, but desperate fantasy managers might want to take a look at JuJu Smith-Schuster. The veteran receiver has bounced around since leaving the Steelers in 2021, including spending 2022 in KC.
On Monday, Smith-Schuster caught seven of his eight targets for 130 yards in a 26-13 win over the Saints. He was one of only three wide receivers with targets, leading all of them in targets, receptions, and yards.
The Chiefs lost this generation's JuJu Smith-Schuster in Rashee Rice to injury and now they've just got the original model out there doing the exact same duties.

Smith-Schuster isn't a safe pickup, but he has appeal in deep leagues with Rice done for the year.
