Should I Drop Michael Pittman Jr. in Fantasy Football?
Michael Pittman Jr.'s average draft position in 2024 was 34, making him the 17th wide receiver off the board—a valuable WR2 for most fantasy teams. Given the premium managers paid for him, his underwhelming performance so far is cause for concern.

Through three weeks, Pittman Jr. ranks as WR70, which, in some leagues, makes him barely rosterable. He’s averaging just 6.6 PPR fantasy points per game, with a season-high of only 7.6 points. Known for his consistency and reliability throughout his career, Pittman Jr. has been consistently below average this season.
However, these struggles aren't solely Pittman Jr.'s fault. The Colts' entire passing offense has faltered, averaging just 184.3 passing yards per game. The only Colts receiver with any fantasy relevance has been Alec Pierce, the team's deep threat, who has benefitted from scoring touchdowns.
The silver lining for Pittman Jr. is that his role as the Colts' WR1 remains secure. He leads the team with 20 targets, ranking 26th among all receivers. He’s also been on the field a lot, with a snap count of over 80% in every game so far.
What should managers do with Pittman Jr.? Dropping him would be a drastic move, especially given the investment managers made in drafting him. For now, he’s a risky flex play, and it might be best to bench him until the Colts' offense improves its aerial attack.

One name to consider is New York Jets wideout Allen Lazard, who is rostered in just 34% of leagues. Lazard has emerged as one of Aaron Rodgers' favorite targets, particularly in the red zone, where he leads the team in both targets and receiving touchdowns.
