If you were one of the thousands of fantasy football owners to draft Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts in Rounds 1-3 of this year's fantasy drafts, let me pass you the tissue box. He has been an utter disappointment for managers across the fantasy landscape and can be dropped in most leagues.
Who can blame you for drafting Pitts? In 2021, his rookie season, Pitts was simply outstanding. He had 68 receptions for over 1,000 yards and was an electric playmaker. He did record only one TD, but at a very thin TE position, any fantasy owner would take that and run.
This season has been a remarkably different story and not one that will have a happy ending.

Can You Drop Kyle Pitts in Fantasy Football?
The answer is yes, and after you drop him, exhale, and feel a huge weight lifted off your shoulders. For the majority of this season, Pitts has underperformed dramatically and hasn't come close to meeting preseason expectations.
Pitts has averaged 7.5 fantasy points per game, but in many ways, it feels like much less. In seven of those weeks, he had only three or four fantasy points, each time being held below 30 yards receiving.
Having such weak production at the TE position is not a recipe for success, and there are better options on the waiver wire.
Why Has This Season Been A Failure For Kyle Pitts?
The answer to that question is somewhat of a mystery. Pitts has received a healthy amount of targets (six per game) through 10 weeks, but for some reason, his QB Marcus Mariota has been unable to find him.
Last season, the Falcons' QB was Matt Ryan, and the chemistry between Ryan and Pitts was excellent, which resulted in strong production for the TE. Mariota has looked his way plenty of times in 2022, but they just haven't connected, and nothing seems to be changing.
The Falcons' offense struggles mightily at times, and even when the game script calls for a passing attack, they fail to throw successfully through the air. The team prefers to run the ball and will continue to do so at all costs.
Pitts has been one of the target leaders at the TE position in 2022, yet the receptions (25), receiving yards (313), and TDs (two) are well below what fantasy managers had on their wish lists.
It has been a frustrating season for owners who spent significant draft capital on a player who is now worth dropping in most fantasy leagues.
