Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins was a popular QB2 option for fantasy players in superflex league drafts. The veteran quarterback was coming off a torn Achilles and had changed teams in the offseason.
Yet, the former Michigan State star has consistently been a low-end QB1 or high-end QB2 for fantasy players when a starting quarterback. Last year, Cousins was the QB7 on a points-per-game basis, averaging 18.7 fantasy points per contest.
Unfortunately, the veteran has had a rocky start to the 2024 season. Should fantasy players ride out the storm or move on from the former Michigan State star?

Should I Drop Kirk Cousins?
The veteran had a rough Week 1 performance, totaling 155 passing yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, and 6.2 fantasy points against the Pittsburgh Steelers. More importantly, Cousins took nearly every snap in a shotgun or pistol formation and didn’t look like his old self.
Thankfully, he rebounded in Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles, completing 69% of his pass attempts for 241 yards, two touchdowns, and 17.5 fantasy points, including the game-winning score to Drake London with less than a minute left in the contest.

Cousins had a decent showing last week against the Kansas City Chiefs, totaling 230 passing yards, one touchdown, and 11.1 fantasy points against an elite defense. Fantasy players shouldn’t panic about the veteran’s season-long value. Yet, they can drop Cousins for a better streaming option this week.
Who Can I Add Off The Waiver Wire?
There are a few appealing streaming quarterback options on the waiver wire in Week 4. Daniel Jones is a popular candidate, but Geno Smith offers fantasy players more upside. The veteran is the QB12 for the year, averaging 15.7 fantasy points per game.
Last week, he completed 76.5% of his pass attempts for 289 yards and a deep ball touchdown to DK Metcalf in the blowout win over the Miami Dolphins. Smith faces the Detroit Lions on Monday night in what should be a high-scoring contest between two talented offenses.
