Chicago Bears wide receiver Keenan Allen was a polarizing fantasy football pick. The veteran wide receiver was outstanding with the Los Angeles Chargers as Justin Herbert’s No. 1 option in the passing game last year.
However, he joined a crowded Bears receiving core in the offseason. Many fantasy players had him on their do-not-draft list because of the crowded receiving room.
Should fantasy players drop Allen, or will things turn around for the former superstar wide receiver? Let’s dive into it.

Should I Drop Keenan Allen?
Allen is the WR78 for the year, averaging only seven half-point PPR fantasy points per game. The veteran wide receiver had two receiving touchdowns and 18.6 fantasy points in the Week 6 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. However, he has averaged 7.4 targets and 4.7 fantasy points per game in the other five contests this season, totaling 5.6 or fewer in every matchup.
Last week, the veteran wide receiver had 10 targets against the Arizona Cardinals, his highest total since Week 1 (11). Yet, Allen only scored 5.6 fantasy points. He struggled with drops, catching only four of his targets.

Fantasy players can drop the veteran wide receiver.
Who Can I Add Off The Waiver Wire?
Xavier Legette is my favorite wide receiver waiver wire target this week. The rookie is the WR52 for the year, averaging 7.1 fantasy points per game. More importantly, he has played well since the Carolina Panthers traded away Diontae Johnson.
The rookie wide receiver has averaged four receptions on 6.5 targets for 33.5 receiving yards, a touchdown, and 11.7 fantasy points per game over the past two weeks, finding the end zone in both contests. Legette should continue to operate as the team’s No. 1 wide receiver for the rest of the season. Yet, he is available in over 70% of Yahoo leagues.
Xavier Legette gets the TD and honors his horse Dolla Bill with the celly (in Broncos country, no less) 🐎😂
