While CMC was sidelined, Mason had three Top-8 fantasy finishes in the first month of the season, proving to be a valuable handcuff. However, CMC returned to action in Week 10 and will be the 49ers' lead back going forward, as Mason had just one carry for five yards in Week 10.
So, should fantasy managers drop Jordan Mason or hold onto him? Let's dive in!

Should I Drop Jordan Mason in Fantasy Football?
Through 10 games, Mason has logged 135 rush attempts for 690 yards, averaging a strong 5.1 yards per carry while finding the end zone three times. He’s also chipped in 10 receptions for 86 yards, which isn't great, but every little bit helps.

The 49ers’ offense still has the potential to be dynamic, even as they’ve dealt with plenty of injuries and adversity this season. With players stepping up across the board, Mason’s was a key part of keeping the ground game strong and keeping the 49ers afloat. He’s shown he can be a reliable back, helping San Francisco stay competitive week in and week out, even without their star playmaker in McCaffrey.
Heading into Week 11, McCaffrey is back in action, which means Mason’s role has been scaled back. While he’s no longer the starting option, Mason is still worth rostering in all fantasy formats as valuable insurance. Injuries can shake up lineups quickly, and Mason has already proven he can produce when called upon.
Who Should I Pickup in Week 11 Fantasy Football?
For fantasy managers, Mason isn’t worth starting right now, but don’t sleep on his potential value down the road if McCaffrey misses time again. Mason would immediately step back into a high-volume role with serious RB2 upside. In leagues with deeper benches, he’s one of the top handcuffs to hold onto, especially if the 49er's offense gets back to firing on all cylinders.

All things considered, Mason is a valuable stash who can become a difference-maker if the opportunity arises. He’s proven his worth when it counted and provides peace of mind for McCaffrey managers looking to secure their backfield for a playoff run. Keep him rostered, stay patient, and know that he’s ready to step up whenever needed.
